POSITION SUMMARY: The Attending Dentist accepts the responsibility as educators to create a learning environment and facilitate the development of dental residents. The Attending Dentist will provide learning activities that will encourage intellectual inquiry, critical analysis, and self-directed and independent learning, implementation of an ongoing comprehensive evaluation program to assess resident learning and teaching effectiveness to ensure a quality program. The responsibilities of an attending dentist include but are not limited to supervising dental residents, reviewing treatment plans, managing treatment plans and care with the residents and hygienists, completing resident evaluations, providing education, etc,. Attending's should be comfortable in all fields of dental including hygiene, restorative, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, basic oral surgery, and be proficient in reading radiographs. It is preferred that the attending dentist is comfortable treating patients in an OR setting. Attending dentist may be on call with the residents. Qualifications
Education: Doctorate ?DDS or DMD
Other Licenses/Certifications: ?CODA Accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) certificate OR Certificate of Post-graduate Fellowship OR Military Service
Current State of Illinois Dental License, Controlled Substance DEA License
Experience: 5 years of General Dentistry experience
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
