Job Description
ECU Health East Carolina Heart Institute at Vidant Medical Center, located in Greenville, North Carolina, is seeking a Physician Assistant to work with its Cardiac Surgery team in a CVOR first assist role . There is no formal CT surgery residency program, therefore service line is completely supported by physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Successful candidates must be proficient in all aspects of first assisting for major cardiac surgical procedures, endoscopic and open vein harvesting, radial artery harvesting. Support will be provided for both adult and pediatric cases.
Coverage needed - March 17 - ongoing
Work schedule - 40 hours in house
Details:
- 100% OR
- Cases per day 3-5 total, 1-3 per APP
- Call: yes (nights)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Work with a team of 6 Cardiac Surgeons and 2 NP/PA
- State of the art 6-story heart hospital with the largest operating rooms in the country
- Established program that averages 1100 pump cases a year
- Large robotic program
- Established NP and PA team
- No ICU DUTIES
Procedures: EVH, ERAH, First Assist, CABG/valve procedures, Pacemaker/lead extraction procedures
