The Henry Ford Department of Ophthalmology is committed to providing our patients with compassionate, personalized care. We feature the most advanced treatments in eye care and are dedicated to vision research – always staying at the forefront of innovation. A leader in Michigan, as well as one of the largest ophthalmology practices in the United States, we treat more than 55,000 patients per year at 14 locations throughout southeast Michigan. In addition, our team works closely with Henry Ford Medical Group physicians in other departments, providing multidisciplinary, coordinated care for those patients who need it.
Henry Ford Medical Group is seeking a board certified/eligible Ophthalmologist who have completed fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. An ASOPRS fellowship is preferred but not mandatory. All our physicians are expected to participate in teaching and patient care.
Ophthalmologist applicants must have graduated from a medical school program accredited by: (1) the Liaison Committee on Medical Education which is sponsored by the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges, or (2) the Canadian Medical Association; or a College of Osteopathic Medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association; or have successfully passed the ECFMG or equivalent qualifying examination.
The Ophthalmology applicant must have completed an ACGME approved Ophthalmology residency program, and be Board eligible or certified in his/her specialty. Board certification must occur within the first three years of eligibility.
