Position Information
The VA Eastern Oklahoma Healthcare System (EOVAHCS) is actively recruiting a staff Physician in Ophthalmology to help care for our veterans, America's Heroes. We have opportunities for involvement with the education and teaching of residents, medical students, and other providers. EOVAHCS consists of two ambulatory care centers, a tertiary care facility, and eight community-based outpatient clinics. EOVAHCS serves veterans residing in multiple counties throughout the Eastern Oklahoma region. There are 55,000 Veterans in the EOVAHCS service area. Ophthalmology is accountable to the Chief of Eye Care Services. Ophthalmology is aligned under the Department of Surgery and is responsible for managing the most effective ophthalmic care, including cataract surgery and comprehensive Ophthalmology. The candidate should have experience in cataract surgery and comprehensive Ophthalmology. Additional training in a subspecialty will be considered. The candidate should be able to work with our optometric colleagues to provide seamless care to the Veterans we serve.
Work Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday (you will be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 full-time physician). Work will be performed primarily in the outpatient clinic and operating room. The facility accepts very little trauma, but some trauma care may be needed.
Starting pay is $270,000.00 to $348,000.00 per year.
Preferred Experience: Board certification by the American Medical Association (AMA) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

The Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a primary medical and surgical facility located in Muskogee, OK, that provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services. Outpatient care is also provided at two community based outpatient clinics in Hartshorne and Tulsa, OK. The medical center serves a veteran population of more than 56,400 throughout eastern Oklahoma providing medical, surgical, primary care, and mental health services. It has 91 hospital beds.
