Job Description

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Beaumont Health is recruiting a full-time cytopathologist pathologist.  This position will be based primarily at the Grosse Pointe campus with cross coverage at other Beaumont Hospitals. Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Pathology (ABP) in cytopathology, & AP/CP is required.  

Beaumont Health is a not-for-profit organization composed of eight hospitals with 3,337 beds in the southeast Michigan region.  Beaumont, Grosse Pointe is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Beaumont, Grosse Pointe offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric and critical care services.

The department performs on an annual basis approximately 45,000 surgical accessions, 70,000 PAP smear and 8,000 non-gyn cytology/FNA accessions.  We offer specialized services such as flow cytometry, molecular pathology and cytogenetics.  Beaumont Health is aligned with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.  There is a pathology residency with three positions per year, and fellowships in cytopathology, hematopathology, clinical chemistry and blood banking.  Academic appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
