Pediatric Emergency Medicine - Ohio - $100,000 Retention Bonus

Ohio-based, Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join its physician staff. The need exists at Akron Children’s Hospital, Beeghly campus. The Beeghly campus sits midway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh and is an easy commute from both locations. 

Akron Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio and is ranked among the best children’s hospitals by  US News and World Report . This integrated healthcare delivery system includes: 

  • Two free-standing pediatric hospitals 
  • More than 800 providers, who manage more than 1.2 million patient visits annually
  • A network of more than 50 primary and specialty care locations
  • Robust research and innovation endeavors 

 

The selected candidate will provide specialized family centered care for acutely ill/injured infants, children and teens in the Beeghly Emergency Department. The Emergency Department (ED) sees more than 38,000 visits annually. Enjoy practicing in a new 35,000 square foot, state-of-the-art ED, that features 23 treatment rooms. Our Beeghly campus ED collaborates with the Akron campus which is a designated level 1 trauma center. Akron Children’s Hospital is the only pediatric hospital in northeast Ohio that has its own helicopter and pediatric transport team. 

This position offers opportunities for:

  • An attractive compensation and benefit package which includes:
    • Year 2 fellowship stipend - $1,000 per month
    • Year 3 fellowship stipend - $2,000 per month
    • A $30,000 starting bonus
    • A $100,000 retention bonus

 

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, ACLS, ATLS, PALS and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio.
