Job Description

Predictable Community Practice: Lower-acuity Level II and Special Care Nursery with an average daily census of 2–6 infants
Work-Life Balance: Approximately eight 24-hour in-house shifts per month with self-scheduling and no additional home call
Level II Neonatology: Care for infants down to 31 weeks with CPAP capability and transfer support from UChicago Medicine’s Hyde Park campus
University of Chicago Affiliation: University of Chicago academic appointment with future Family Medicine resident teaching and quality improvement opportunities
Independent Practice: Serve as the on-site pediatric physician with UChicago subspecialty consultation available
Moonlighting Available: Extra shifts available across UChicago community campus locations

Competitive Compensation: $260K–$290K based on experience
Moonlighting: $125/hour
Signing Bonus: $10K
Paid Time Off: 30 total vacation and professional-development days

Qualifications :

Certifications: BC/BE in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Licensure: Eligible for medical licensure in Indiana and Illinois
Skillset: Comfortable with Level II neonatal care, CPAP and responding to the Emergency Department when needed
Experience: Comfortable practicing independently, high acuity experience preferred

Close to Chicago: Approximately 40 minutes from downtown
Desirable Community: Live minutes from the hospital in Homewood or Flossmoor, with established neighborhoods, strong schools
