The University of Missouri School of Medicine
The University of Missouri School of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, board-certified, or board-eligible Rheumatologist to join our growing rheumatology team as an Assistant or Associate Professor.
Divisional faculty are responsible for the continued development and growth of clinical services and clinical teaching activities (medical students, residents, and rheumatology fellows) in the division.
We have a busy University clinic that cares for patients with a variety of rheumatic diseases and also clinics at the Harry S. Truman VA hospital which is just across the street. Outreach clinics (within 40 minutes) are also available. We have 3 rheumatology fellows and an experienced Nurse Practitioner. Shared space with Pulmonary Medicine and Nephrology allows for close collaboration and there is a monthly joint Dermatology-Rheumatology clinic.
New faculty would find opportunities in setting up Rheumatology-Pulmonary clinics and Rheumatology-Ophthalmology clinics and in developing a musculoskeletal ultrasound curriculum (funds for courses and to purchase a new US machine are available.)
The University of Missouri, located in Columbia, has an average enrollment of 35,000 students and is Missouri's largest public research university. Mizzou is also the flagship campus of the four-campus University of Missouri System and one of only five universities nationwide with law, medicine, veterinary medicine, and a nuclear research reactor on one campus. A member of the prestigious Association of American Universities since 1908, Mizzou is considered one of the nation's top-tier institutions.
